Slip-form curb for Southwest Florida's biggest scopes
Machine curb — also called slip-formed or extruded curb — is the fastest, most consistent way to place long runs of concrete curb and gutter. A curb machine extrudes a continuous, monolithic profile directly on grade, producing tight tolerances, clean lines and a dense, durable product mile after mile.
Unlimited Concrete has been pouring curb in Sarasota and Manatee County since 1987. Our operators know how to hold line and grade through Florida sand, around sweeping subdivision radii and along crowned roadways — and our finishers follow right behind the machine to dress joints, tool edges and keep the surface uniform.
Where machine curb pays off
- Large residential subdivisions — thousands of linear feet of curb and gutter placed in production runs, phased with your lot construction and paving schedule.
- Roadways — median curb, shoulder curb and curb and gutter for new roads and widenings, held to plan line and grade.
- Parking lots — perimeter curb, islands and gutter that drain the way the civil drawings intend.
Curb profiles we pour
We pour the standard FDOT and county profiles used across the Suncoast, and we can match a custom profile when your plans call for one.
| Type D curb | Vertical curb common on parking lots and local streets. |
|---|---|
| Type F curb & gutter | Barrier curb with gutter pan — the workhorse of Florida roadways. |
| Miami curb | Mountable curb and gutter for driveways and low-speed streets. |
| Ribbon / valley gutter | Flush concrete drainage paths through pavement. |
| Median & header curb | Traffic separation and pavement edging for roadways. |
How we run a machine curb job
- Pre-pour coordination. We walk the site with your superintendent, check the string lines and grade, and sequence runs around utilities and access.
- Production pour. The machine places a continuous profile; finishers follow to tool joints, dress the surface and handle inlet boxouts.
- Joints and curing. Control joints are cut on schedule and the curb is cured properly — that's what keeps Florida curb from cracking early.
- Hand-formed tie-ins. Tight radii, intersections and transitions are hand-formed by our hand curb crews so the whole job matches.
Why GCs and developers call Unlimited Concrete
Curb is one of the first finished products on a site — and one of the most visible. Crooked curb gets noticed by every buyer, inspector and engineer who drives the project. Our team has over 30 years in the industry, and we pride ourselves on craftsmanship: straight lines, consistent profiles, clean joints and grades that drain.
We're based at 3208 Whitfield Ave. in Sarasota and pour throughout Sarasota County, Manatee County and the surrounding areas — Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton, Venice, Palmetto, Parrish, North Port and beyond.
Machine curb FAQs
How much curb can a machine pour in a day?
Production depends on profile, access and concrete supply, but slip-form machine curb typically places several thousand linear feet per day — far faster than hand forming. On large subdivisions we phase runs with your site schedule.
What curb profiles can your machines pour?
Common FDOT and county profiles including Type D, Type F curb and gutter, Miami curb, ribbon curb, valley gutter, median and header curb. Custom profiles are available — send us the detail.
Do you combine machine curb with hand-formed curb?
Yes. The machine runs long tangents and sweeping radii; our finishers hand-form tight radii, intersections, inlets and transitions so line and finish match end to end.
